Role description

The leadership for a day project aims to help inspire entrepreneurship and an understanding for different types of leadership in youths aged 18-25. This is done through a three step process where they:

1. Attend a warmup seminar where we educate them in theoretical leadership principles combined with practical examples of how it might differ in different roles,
2. Pair up with a local business leader whom they may shadow for a day,
3. Attend a closing seminar where they get to share and exchange their individual experiences with the other participants in order to maximize the outcome of their experiences.

Role description

I was a member of the the Boatyard team, whose purpose was to assist the boat crews with any repair related tasks that might have arose during their time in port.

The Volvo Ocean Race (formerly the Whitbread Round the World Race) is the world's premier offshore race in which participants race yachts across the world for a period of nine months. It usually consists of 8-9 different legs and also involves different port races in the stopover citires. In 2015, the final goal passage was located in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Role description

As a witness support ones tasks involves providing emotional support and delivering practical information about the trial processes to the witnesses, relatives or other parties related to the court case. The purpose is to provide an atmosphere of security and sense of control in order to increase the likelihood of the witnesses being able to leave an exhaustive account of the circumstances in front of court.

Vitnesstöden Uppsala is a non-profit organization which aims to always be present at the court in Uppsala to be able to offer emotional support and provide information on the judicial proceedings. The members of the organization are recruited from Uppsala law school.

Role description

During the autumn semester of 2009 I went to Kampala, Uganda to work as a teaching assistant at Kisugu Church of Uganda Primary School. However, once there, I was expected to function as regular teacher responsible for a class of 20-25 pupils aged 8-16, whom I taught english in accordance to their individual prerequisites.

Youth for Global Education was a non-profit organization which sent youths to function as teaching assistants in Ugandan schools. The organization no longer exists.
